Abstract
Daily cross correlation modeling of vertical total electron content deviation from monthly mean derived from GPS data in Indonesian sector have been used to study global and local ionospheric disturbances. High cross correlation coefficients indicate that ionospheric variability is occurred at global scale. In contrast the low correlation coefficients indicate the local phenomena give significant contribution to ionospheric variability. The daily cross correlation model over Indonesia have been examined in it's application to detect global ionospheric disturbances as sudden ionospheric disturbance and ionospheric storm, and local of ionospheric disturbance as ionospheric precursors of earthquake, influence of volcanic activity to ionosphere and ionospheric irregularity induced by large thunderstorm.
Keywords : Total electron content, ionosphere variations, cross-correlation,model, local phenomena.
